Location Detail

Location Name Stokesay Castle
Location Description Stokesay Castle was built in 1931, inspired by Laurence of Ludlow's Stokesay Castle in England which was built at the end of the 13th century. This truly majestic 32,000-square-foot mansion and 1,900-square-foot carriage house were built by George Baer Hester to surprise his wife with a summer home. Hiester spared no expense when it came to the 10 acre property. Unfortunately, his wife hated the castle and resented Hiester for building the home with no input from her. Six year later Mrs. Hiester would end their marriage.
