Location Name Amish and Mennonite Communities
Location Description Berks County is the home of the earliest Amish, Mennonite settlements in America, first established in 1714. Historic homesteads including the Nicholas Stoltzfus House, Gnaegi Mill, Yoder Cemetery, Jacob Hertzler Home and Cemetery, Strong Jacob Yoder Homestead, Jacob Hochstetler Homestead, Hans Kurtz Home and the Cemetery. The area is still home to several Amish and Mennonite Communities, who can be seen at local markets selling goods.
