Cammie Harris is an accomplished executive with over twenty years of leadership and entrepreneurial experience. She has spearheaded telecommunications, and construction projects of varying sizes and budgets, from multimillion-dollar projects for Merrill Lynch to smaller projects for startups and mid-sized businesses. Additionally, Harris owned and operated three restaurants for a decade before relocating with her family to the Commonwealth. Her commitment to community service throughout her career, participating in various committees and boards, led her to embark on a new journey working within the nonprofit sector.
Upon moving to Berks County, PA, Harris assumed the role of Executive Director at the non-profit, WCR Center for the Arts (WCR). In this capacity, she successfully secured grants to preserve the century-old building, oversaw daily operations, forged community partnerships, and introduced new, enriching community-focused programming. During her tenure at WCR, Harris also managed the operations of ReadingFilmFEST in 2018 and 2019. In 2019, she transitioned to become the Executive Director of ReadingFilmFEST, and in 2021, she established the nonprofit 501c3 ReadingFilm Office, with the mission of building a film production industry and providing support and educational opportunities for emerging and professional filmmakers. Under her guidance, the organization has attracted respected leaders within the community to its board and advisory council and established a five year strategic plan for growth.
Harris’ ability to build strong relationships with community partners, secure grants, and develop community-based programs has been pivotal to the success and expansion of both the ReadingFilm organization and ReadingFilmFEST.
